Welcome to Glacier Valley Elementary SchoolLearning Time
The period from January through Spring Break is the time of tremendous academic growth for elementary age children. Students begin to put together the skills they have been learning during the fall, demonstrating tremendous growth in their classwork and assessment during this period. Caregivers and parents can help during these months by ensuring that children are getting appropriate rest, lots of water (rather than sugary drinks or energy drinks), and healthy foods, especially fruits, vegetables, and proteins to balance with the breads and sugars. Students will also advance more quickly if they are practicing their reading at home every night, even on weekends. And finally, here's to days of lengthening daylight!
