Extended Learning - Glacier Valley has an excellent program for students who need more of a challenge with classroom work. Depending upon the grade level, students in this program may go to the Extended Learning room every day for reading and/or math. |

| Discovery Program - The Discovery program for 3-5 grades brings a naturalist into the classroom to introduce children to the environment in which we live and leads them on field trips to discover the outdoors. The Nature Studies programs strives to heighten youth's knowledge of local natural history and ecological systems; to engage youngsters in physical experiences of their natural home; to strengthen and deepen children's connections with Southeast Alaska; to promote personal responsibility and respect for self, classmates, teachers, and nature; and to cultivate the roots of stewardship for this land. Art is Elementary - The Art is Elementary Program provides arts-integrated and art-specific experiences to Glacier Valley students. The program provides a variety of ways for students to learn and helps them meet the challenges of a culturally diverse, multi-literate society. The Art is Elementary program was selected as one of five in the nation to receive a Kennedy Center Creative Ticket National School of Distinction Award. Lunch
Students eat lunch in our commons. They are given 25 minutes to eat. Lunches are provided by NANA and include a salad bar and choice between two entrèes each day. Lunches and milk may be prepaid at the school office.
