A Day in the Life of 3rd Grade
Math
Math is cool. You can play games, card games. We learn how to make change,
tell time, and add big numbers. We practice math fact. We get to play
pattern blocks, tangrams, play money, and cubes.
Writing
We have writing at the end of the day. It is fun. We draw pictures and
we write too. At the end, we have author's chair. We each have a writing
folder with our name on it.
Snack & Calendar
Snack is about eating and doing the calendar.We have 15 minutes to eat
snack. While we eat snack we talk about stuff like pattern, tally marks,
odd and even numbers, money, the weather, and time. We also do some math
on the white board. We keep track of how many days of school have passed.
Recess
Recess is fun because we get to play outside for 15 minutes.
Art
Art is good because we learn how to make cool stuff. Diane is the art
teacher. She comes to our classroom once a week.
Computer Lab
We go to computer lab twice a week. First we play games on the computer.
Then we do an assignment. We go on the internet. We see Mr. Fontanella's
class. We see pictures of Mr. Fontanella's class. We have new computers.
We like to play bug dome. We like to play kid's pick.
Lunch
We eat lunch in the gym. Mr. Dye, the principal, tells us to throw away
the garbage. We get to choose where to sit. We get to sit by our friends.
You can buy pizza tickets for $1 and get pizza on Friday.
Reading
.We read every day because we want to become better readers to help people
learn because everybody learns how to read. During reading we read quietly.
We sometimes read with the teacher and sometimes we read with a parent
and sometimes with a friend.
Gym
At gym we play capture the flag, tug-o-war, and other games. We do situps,
pushups, frog stands, road block, basketball, hockey, tunnel tag, and
jumproping. Our class goes to gym twice a week.
Library
We have library once a week and we check in books then we get new books
and then we check them out we get in line. Two lucky people get a bookmark
if they follow the library rules.
Science
Science is fun for us. Science is fun to learn. We had a science project.
We made cars out of Kinex. We learned about force and motion.
Story Time
We listen to our teacher read. We read our stories to the teacher. We
have fun listening to our teacher read to us. The children they like to
hear. We have story time every day.

Highlights
Kid Camp
At camp there was a 131-year-old tree. Camp was fun. There was a rope
swing and it was fun at camp. There were a lot of beaver dams there too.
At camp there's a place to put our packs.
Halloween Party
We had games that were fun at the halloween party. Halloween is fun because
you see them and on Halloween some houses are real scary and one home
on our street was scary.
Class Guests
We invite people to come into our class and share stuff with us. Jeff
Brown came and showed us how to tie balloons, Don Martin came with a real
black bear hide and he told us about bears, and we heard about world wars
from two veterans on Veteran's Day.

Pets
We have four frogs and one small rabbit in our class. We like to hold
our pets. We have to wash our hands when we are done.
