It's Not Too Late To

Graduate!

We would like to help you reach your educational goals!

Yaakoosge Daakahidi Alternative High School is settling into our new home in the Marie Drake Options building.  We are enjoying the extra space, access to the planetarium, a large commons area, and a gym. We made it through the first quarter and the first credits for the 2009/2010 school year will be are now posted to the transcripts.  One of the best parts of ending a quarter is celebrating students who have completed all the necessary course work in order to graduate.  We honored our first four graduates of the year on Novemeber 6th. These students have shown dedication and perserverence as they worked toward their goal of recieving their high school diploma.  They all have great plans for the next stage of their lives and we wish them the best of luck.  Their future is bright and they are ready for it!

One-On-One Laptop Program

YDHS is in the fourth year of a one-to-one laptop program that is sponsored by a grant from the Alaska Association of School Boards.  Each student at our school gets a laptop to use.  These computers are a powerful tool that allow students to access up-to-date research and present information in creative ways.  During 2009 Yaakoosge Daakahidi was honored to receive Apple's Distiguished School Award for the work that has been done with this amazing program.  If you would like to learn more about our program, click here to watch a short video
