One word to describe us would be . . .  Motivated.

    In our small community, students are respected and recognized for their individual talents, and prepared for the real world.  We learn not to give up after graduation, but to continue trying until we accomplish our goals.  Our school makes paths for our future to actually make something of ourselves. 

    Yaakoosge is the most amazing educational experience in all of  Southeast Alaska.  From our House of Knowledge you can go anywhere, and do anything.  The staff have helped and supported so many people, not only to overcome the troubles in their lives, but also to motivate them to make their mark in the world.  Walking into school everyday isn’t just a requirement; it’s an opportunity to become the best you can be.
