Can't Think of a PowerPoint Topic?
Step #1 - Start your PowerPoint - The FIRST thing you should do is enter your text
Step #2 (optional) Adding Clipart and Animations - Learn how to add clipart and animations to your PowerPoint or Word document
Step #3 Adding Pictures from the Internet - Click, drag and drop!!!!
Step #4 Formatting the Background - Make it look pretty
Step #5 Using Pictures as the Background - This will show you how to get a picture or clipart behind the text or another picture
Taking a Screen Shot - Do you want to add a picture of a web page or other document? You can take a shot of your computer screen and add that to your PowerPoint or Word document. APPLE - SHIFT - 4
Step 6 - Add your fiction and nonfiction book. Watch this video about using the library. Click here to see the proper way to format the reference.
Step #7 Transitions - Add cool effects when going from one slide to the next
Step #8 Custom Animations - Make text and pictures fly across the screen, appear, and disappear. But don't get carried away with this as too much can make it look silly.
Adding Sound - Record your own or import prerecorded sounds.
Find an AR (Accelerated Reader) Book
ASSIGNMENT: Create a list of AR Books that you might be interested in reading. You need to find 2 nonfiction books and 4 fiction books. Then find out if the books are available at the Floyd Dryden Library or the Capital City Library (Juneau Public Library). Print this list out and turn it in to your teacher.
Step 1: Find an AR Book that you want to read using: AR (Accelerated Reader) Book Finder
Step 2: Make sure you can GET the book you want to read.
Look for your AR Book in one of two locations:
1) Floyd Dryden Library (Go to the Floyd Dryden Web Page and then click on Library and then Destiny)
**IMPORTANT- when looking at a book in the Floyd Dryden catalog, do not get confused between the Reading Level and The Accelerated Reader Level. Only look at the Accelerated Reader Level. Click here and here to see what I mean.
