FLASH tips

Part A: GETTING STARTED: Please watch the below tutorials. After you have watched the first video, make and save an example that shows that you have mastered the skill shown in the video. Now watch the next video, make and save an example that shows you have mastered the bouncing ball skill. Continue watching the videos and making and saving examples. When done, show all six examples to me and I will check them off in my gradebook. It is important that you really master these basic skills before you move on.

Estimated time to complete assignment: 3 days (approximately 2 videos/day)

1. How to Draw. After watching this video, draw something simple using a some of the unique drawing options that are available to you in Flash.

2. Bouncing Ball Tutorial

4. Motion Tweens - Motion Guides
5. Timeline Effects
6. Shape Tweens

Part B: Now that you've mastered the above tutorials, create a Flash project that you will eventually add to your web page. Don't forget to look at the Flash assessment before you get too far along! Also, don't forget to create a LAYER for each item that you want to move on its own! If the left arm is supposed to move independently from the right arm, make sure you have a left arm layer and a right arm layer. The key to happiness in your Flash assignment is layering! In case you didn't get it, don't forget to make lots of layers, layers, layers, layers, layers, layers, layers, layers.

Estimated time to complete assignment: 10 days.
