Art is Elementary Nationally Recognized:

In September 2007, the Art is Elementary program was selected as one of five schools in the nation to receive a Kennedy Center’s Creative Ticket National School of Distinction Award, which recognizes schools that teach all of the arts; provide imaginative learning environments; include parental involvement; promote learning about other cultures; and encourage community connections.

Glacier Valley is the first school in Alaska ever to be honored and was invited to perform at the Kennedy Center and National Museum of the American Indian at the Smithsonian on March 14th & 15th, 2008.  See our Creative Ticket Award page for photos, links and more details about our national tour of Tides and the Tempest.
