After graduating from Marquette University in 1984 with an English and Education degree, I taught in the Yukon Delta for six years, Haines, Angoon, as well as JDHS. I joined the DzHMS staff 15 years ago and am entering my 13th year teaching 6th grade language arts and social studie. In addition to reading, I am serious about Bicycling, raising teen-agers, and cooking. Some may know me as a Parks and Rec soccer/basketball coach.
This year I have a son at the Montessori Adolescent Program, a son in 10th grade at THMS, a daughter who is a senior at JDHS, and a son in college. Yes, I go home from middle school to a house with four teen-agers. Outside of school I assist my children as a Boy Scout leader and help my churchÕs teenage youth group and retreat programs. My wife teaches English at Yaakoosge Daakihidi High School.
This year I look forward to continuing successes IÕve witnessed here at DzantikÕi Heeni with a solid team and the strong traditions within our sixth grade house.
